Sarah's Drum Seats

I am a painter and decorator by trade and have been wanting to fulfil my creative side by making interesting items for the home and garden. I started off by making bright coloured wooden benches, and have branched out into making planters and woodburners out of car wheels. I am hoping to create other unusual items, so please watch this space.

We have travelled round some of the agricultural shows and steam fairs in the last few months and have created a lot of interest in our drumseats, woodburners and planters. Look out for us on your travels...

My latest, and most unusual, pieces are seats made from used oil drums. I enjoy re-using materials that would otherwise be crushed and sent to China as scrap, only to arrive back here as cheap steel once more. 

 

Whilst being able to be creative, I also feel that re-using otherwise throwaway items, makes sense and gives an interesting slant on industrial items to make them aesthetically pleasing, quirky and useful.
