Yesterday we were up at 5am, having loaded the trailer the night before, to set off from Lostock Hall, Lancashire for a day at the Westmorland County Show...
We had our latest drumseat ready for her debut - a Landrover Marine Blue seat with contrasting Limestone seat back.
We were making such good time, hoping for a stress-free unload and set-up before the movement of vehicles was prohibited on the showground. Then...
The queues started building and we had fifteen minutes and a cow trailer full of drumseats, woodburners and planters to unload. The ground was boggy and the four-wheel drive was not working on the Trooper. We also had the added issue of being moved from where our entrance passes said we were to be located. I had to run across the showground, in my usual calm and collected fashion with =out making a complete spectacle of myself, to find out where we were to unload our wares.
All this with ten minutes to the deadline. Safe to say, it was a panic, but we managed it - as my partner, Andrew, says, 'A job only takes as long as the time you have to do it in'. This didn't help at the time, though - funny that isn't it?
Well, we got there, had a well-deserved coffee, and Betty, my lovely 12 year old mini-schnauzer, had her breakfast and a comfort break. She has a hard life, lying around on showgrounds in the sunshine. Yes, we had sunshine yesterday!
More about yesterday later, apart from a picture or two to keep you going...
